Cups4you has restyled its SCH95-240 packaging. The SCH95-240 is a packaging with a standard round Ø95mm mouth and a hexagonal base.
The most important change is the application of a star-shaped In Mould Label (IML) (see picture) instead of a wrap around IML. This application requires only one IML instead of two single IMLs. As a result, the packaging can be produced more cost-efficiently.
At the same time, the adjustment of the bottom and the improved presentation of the transparent sides have given the packaging a more modern appearance. By using a ‘star’ IML only the sides of the packaging that need artwork will be covered with an IML. Three of the six sides stay transparent so that the consumer can look at the food product without having to open it.
With the restyling Cups4you – together with students from the ROC Leijgraaf in Oss - also designed a new linear robot for on the injection-moulding machine. The robot is equipped with a Vision system, by which all products are checked on before being packed in the box.
